While the practice of mindfulness requires nothing other than your intention
to be mindful, it is often helpful to be guided in one's practice by a
variety of means.
In addition to having a teacher, many people find that the myriad of
books, websites and other materials can be both helpful and daunting
at the same time. In an effort to help you focus your search for information
relevant and instructive to you, we have assembled a collection of books,
links and other resources that you may wish to explore.
Furthermore, we have found that a bit of inspiration is also quite helpful
and have assembled a collection of poetry and prose that we frequently
employ in our MBSR classes to illustrate the points we teach and the
observations that participants share.
We invite you to explore and enjoy these resources, and to remember
that they are only accounts and descriptions of the actual experience
of mindfulness. They are the equivalent of the menu in a wonderful restaurant
- wonderful descriptions of exquisite dishes, but
not the food itself.
Enjoy! |
